Kumbakarai falls are nine km from Periyakulam, in the district of Theni. The sound of the gushing water in the foothills along Kodai-Vellagavi-Periyakulam is heard when it rains at Kodaikanal. And, one of beauty is the green swathed road towards Periyakulam via Kumbakarai, through which the water flows like a poem. The queen of hill stations hit with a few showers. On the bed of rocks a few more steps ahead I now see the white sheet of water falling from less than 50 feet high. A sight that doesn’t really make me cry out in joy.
