Bodinayakanur is the second largest and most populous town in the Theni
district; it serves as the taluk's administrative seat. Jawaharlal Nehru,
India's first Prime Minister, named the town "South Kashmir" due to
its environment and natural climate. A city in Tamil Nadu, India, at the
foothills of the Western Ghats. This town is surrounded on three sides by West
Ghat hills. Theni, Bodi is 16 kilometres from the nearest market town.
Bodinayakanur
played an essential role in Nayakar rule throughout the nineteenth century.
There is a modest Bodinayakanur-built palace. This palace was built with an eye
towards the Jaipur Palace. Bodinayakanur is India's Cardamom City.
Lord Shiva consecrated the Paramasivan Temple location, also known as
Tenkasiyambathi, as a deity. God Vinayagar is also known as Selva Ganesha. It's
right behind the CPA college. I believe the name of the God is Sri
Ramalingaeswara Swamy. The Kovil is on top of a little hill and has little
rationality!Lakshmi Narasimha on Lord Shiva's right side, Murugan with Goddess
Valli on the left, and Ganapati at the foot of the hill all bestow blessings
from their own shrines.
Shivaperuman, who once lived in the area, travelled to Kasi and Rameswaram to
worship the god and request the blessing of a child. By the mercy of God, the
child born to him became unwell and died unexpectedly. Thus, out of anger for
the deity, he decided to immerse the objects of devotion in the river and
retire to bed. That night, he had a dream in which he saw his kid laying dead
alongside a monk on a hill west of the city. With that, he summoned his son,
who walked to the monk and lay down without approaching the father.
The
father requested that the monk send his son to him, explaining that he had come
to serve him and that another son like him would be born to him. followed by:
"Who are you who took my son for service?" He asked my monk. Lord
Shiva, disguised as a monk, emerged as Parvati Sametara, a star-shaped torch on
the western Kovalingan hill. The next morning, he informed the villagers about
what had occurred, and everyone flocked to the location where Swamy Shiva
appeared. They were shocked to discover two pairs of footprints and flowers
surrounding it.
After that, the temple is erected, and worship continues. The temple,
which was once huge, has since been reduced to a modest stone edifice
containing a figure of Nandi. This is also known as
"Tendiruvannamalai". Attempts were attempted to establish a
correction to Lord Shiva at this location. Every nightfall, God appears as a
torch on the Koovalinga hill behind the temple. According to eyewitnesses and
priests, a white eagle that visits this location at the daily peak puja circles
three times above itself.
The Swayambhu Lingams are spread across the hills in four directions:
Marakkalingam to the northeast, Jyoti Lingam to the southwest, Mallingeswarar
to the southeast, and Melasokkaiya to the northwest. Also, the mountains
resemble Lingam. Devotees who come here to celebrate Pavurnami visit Kirivalam.
Lakshmi Narasimha on Lord Shiva's right side, Lord Murugan with Valli and
Deivanai on the left, and Balaganapati at the foot of the hill all bestow
blessings from their own shrines. Balavinayagar is honoured with the title
Selva Vinayagar. As a cure, they prepare sugar Pongal.
Festival
The first week at Chithirai, Karthika during the days of Maha Deepam,
Annapisesham, and Maha Sivarathri The celebration is commemorated. Special
worships are also held on the auspicious days of Pradosh and Shiva. Annabhishekam
is hung on the full moon day of the seventh month of the year, Aippasi, for
Siva Lingam, the principal deity of all Siva Temples in South India. Devotees
believe that doing Annabhishekam before the Lord on this day will solve all of
their troubles.
The Shiva Linga can be covered with cooked rice. They might even cover the
floor of the sanctum sanctorum and expand it up to the stairs. They would utilise
foods such as Vadai and appam to enhance the deities. They will even use greens
and the finished product. As a result, the Siva Linga will have eyes, ears,
nose, and mouth. The fruits and veggies may be stacked up on the floor and
steps. The 'harathi' may be followed. The Siva linga will remain with Annam for
about one yamam, or 1 hour 30 mins.

wealth abounds; industry booms. Foot-related disorders are healed. The belief

to Lord Shiva, and the youngsters are worshipped on a swing at the temple.
